Stretching Exercises and Yoga Poses for Flexibility
Dear Yoga Students,
Let's talk about Arnold Schwarzenegger... in Total Recall, Terminator II, and now in Sacramento as California’s Governor.
If you’re looking for the punch line, I don’t have one. I’m a fan.
Let me tell you why…
Despite the fact that California has a stronger economy than most countries, its schools are piss-poor.
I spent two years in the public school system in California, and at lunch, we had the option of Dominos Pizza, Taco Bell, or else the usual microwave-heated variety of burritos, burgers, and soggy fries.
It seems terrible to offer fast food at school, but I’m guessing there weren’t many other options.
When my younger brother was in high school in Orange County (yes that Orange County), the schools went bankrupt, and kids had to bring in their own paper to take tests!
Hmm… that’s pathetic.
And when there is so little money, it’s now wonder the schools welcomed corporate fat cats like Coke, Pepsi, and Frito-Lay to feed their kids.
But that’s all changed… or changing anyway.
My man Arnold has helped to pass legislature that bans deep-fried foods, sugar-laden sweets, and sodas.
This is all good, but what really excites me is that the food manufactures responded by changing their products…
…an estimated 10,000 products have either been created or altered to meet the new regulations.
So what does this mean?
It means if you stop eating all the crap foods you know are bad for you, then the manufactures will stop making them.
The aisles of 7-11 are filled with salty, fried, processed snacks simply because we buy them.
Here’s what I love about capitalism… if you stop drinking Coke, eating McDonalds French fries, and snacking on Doritos—they will go away.
This is not theory. This is an economic reality.
Buy organic.
Eat vegetables.
Snack on fruit.
Practice yoga.
Smile.
All for now,
Lucas
